Question:
I have a cold what can I take for it......
I have had a cold since Saturday and I have not been able to reach my doctor and I'm scared to just take any over the counter meds....Can someone tell me what they have taken for a cold? Maribel Palermo — mari62870 (posted on September 16, 2003)

I take liquid adult tylenol for pain relief and fever reduction. I got it
at a local pharmacy, but I had to ask for it, not all pharmacies carry it.

I would call your surgeon and ask what they reccomend. I usually take
Sudafed products and Tylenol. I do howevewr dump violently from the Tylenol
Adult Liquid.

As for other options, a cool mist humidifier can be worth its weight in
gold! I can't do without mine when I'm sick.

I was just at my surgeons office yesterday and I asked the same question as
I have a horrible cold/sore throat. They gave me a list of drugs:
Benadryl, Dimetapp, Robitussin, Safetussine, Sudafed, Triaminic and all
Tylenol cold products. It was also noted that we should look for sugar
free products and that they need to be smaller than an M&M or broken
up. Do not break up time-released or sustained release medicine.
If in doubt, ask the pharmacist.
