Question:
10 Wks Post Op and This Is Happening Frequently
I've been noticing that as the day wears on I tend to start feeling more and more nauseous. By the time bedtime rolls around I feel awful. I'm eating ok earlier on in the day, and feel typically hungry but the later it gets the less anything sounds good! Also this isn't making it any easier to take my meds regularly. Any suggestions? I'm already taking pepcid and seeing my internist next week. Thanks! — Patti S. (posted on September 11, 2003)

Hi, have you spoken to your surgeon about the problem?

Are you drinking enough water?

This is very perplexing. I'm glad you can see your internist next week,
but it would be a good idea to talk to your surgeon also. My guess is they
are going to do a dose of Nexium or something like it to try and settle
things down. Do you tend to eat certain things at supper, that maybe is
making it worse. You might also have an ulceration. Some meds for that
makes things so much better and fast. I hope you figure something out
soon.

I was feeling the same in my first month postop. Doc prescribed Zantac
morning and evening. It helped quite a bit BUT alot of it for me was being
tired. The more tired I was, the crappier I felt. If you are able to rest
or nap in the afternoon, give it a try. You may need rest and fight it.
Also try to get in all of your solids during the day and stick to water and
other liqids after 5 pm. Could be a hydration problem. JMHO.
