Rachael, congratulations to you on getting past the hurdles you faced and taking charge of your life! I'm proud of you! Nausea is normal. All sorts of unpleasantries are normal the first few weeks, but they go away. Drinking enough water, one sip at a time, is a big help in controlling nausea. You'll get lots of different advice on alcohol, but I'll tell you what my surgeon says: No alcohol for one year, to give your liver a chance to do the hard work of flushing the fat from your system. Alcohol stresses the liver and so does obesity, so that's the reason. Take care!

Rachael, I had nausea for the first 3 months almost all the time. Eating ice helped a lot. Now, I rarely get nauseated but when I do, ice still helps. Good luck! Hang in there, it gets better and better each week.
