Question:
I just had a pannectomy/hernia repair 6 days ago and am home from the hospital. I am
happy with the results but would like to know, is the way my stomach looks now the way it will look or, can I expect to lose 2 or 3 inches after swelling? Any advice is appreciated. The tummy tuck exceeded my expectations but I would like my stomach to be alittle bit smaller. I was wondering if maybe it would go down alittle more in the next few weeks. Thanks for everyone's advice. — Judy W. (posted on August 25, 2003)

Well I had a full abdominoplasty so take it for what its worth (oh, and I
had a lot of damage to the muscles that had to be repaired too). Anyhow, I
was swollen quite a bit for the first couple months. In fact I still had a
little swelling until almost 6 months out. Its so nice when all that is
gone and you can appreciate the final results. Don't worry you're still
VERY early out from your surgery and you definitely still have some
swelling going on. Give it some time.

The swelling will go down. It took me about 6 weeks post-op to see the
real final results. I lost 2 pants sizes!!

The swelling will go down a lot. It took 6 to 8 weeks for mine to go down
completely and I'm thrilled. Good luck to you.

I am 5 months post TT and went from a 14/16 to a 8/10 and a few 12's but
pretty much a 10 and I still swell in the upper abs nearly every day My PS
said it is a year before you get a true final result. Even if I dont get a
millimeter smaller I am just tickled with my new body adn they clothes
options are endless, I even got my belly button pierced this weekend !
Best wishes to you, Lesley
