Question:
Has anyone had their hernia rupture or break through the skin? My hernia is

huge and gets bigger and bigger. My tummy tuck/hernia repair is not scheduled for 6 more weeks and I don't know if the hernia will wait that long till it does something as it changes every week. This past week, it dropped and is tighter than a tick and I now have bump like places on my belly where the intestines is right under the skin. I called the doctor's office but they keep ignoring me and saying if anything happens, go to the emergency room. HELP!!    — Judy W. (posted on July 28, 2003)

Could it be possible for you to relax, and lay down or somethiing so that your inards go back in and then use a binder or a girdle of sorts to help hold your inards in place for the few more weeks you have to suffer until your surgery? Call the surgeon, and ask if it is possible to move your date up considering your problems. In the mean time do nt lift anything, be careful stretching, and bending and straining (bathroom). Apply counter pressure to your area to help keep things in place.
