Question:
Adult Chewable Vitamins--any recommendations?
I don't want to take 6 children chewable vitamins a day. I am looking for a good adult chewable that won't make me dump (after surgery). I've heard of Nature's Plus, but they have 2 grams of sugar. Carnie's brand at vistavitamins.com seems a little high, but is it worth it? — beckyvee (posted on July 11, 2003)

I TAKE DUETS CHEWABLE PRENATAL VITAMINS...I TAKE ONE A DAY, THEY DONT TASTE
THE BEST BUT THEY GET THE JOB DONE. YOU HAVE TO GET UR DR. TO PRESCRIBE
THEM TO YOU. INSURANCE SHOULD PAY FOR IT, I KNOW MINE DOES. HOPE THIS
HELPS. OPEN RNY 11/15/02 -116 LBS

Centrum chewables either adult or kids and One-Source at Wal-Mart kids
complete. You only have to take two vitamins.

Have you been advised to take 6 childrens chewables a day? I've not heard
of that many before. At 17 mo post-op I still take 2 Flintstones Complete
Chewables a day-no sugar in them.

Yep, Flinstones Complete here, too. Two a day, 4 years out in August, so
far, so good.

My doc gave me Natachew it is a chewable pre-natal that both men and women
can take without any problems. I take it twice a day. It is cheaper than
otc vities and better tasting with less sugar. Good Luck!

When I came out of the hospital, I sent hubby to the pharmacy. He got the
Natachews and brought them home. He then told me that they were $30 for a
month and weren't covered by our insurance. Well, he never thought to ask
me if he should take them, so I just let it go. I used them for the month
then switched to the Flintsones Completes, 2x a day. The Natachews tasted
ok but I really didn't want to pay for them. Oh, and look into your
drugstores generic children's complete vitamins. I've used CVS, Eckerd,
etc with the same results and they are even cheaper than the Flintstones.

Hi,
I found one at my local health food store. It is an adult chewable
multi-vitamine. It is by nature's plus. It is Pineapple flavor (which is
okay). They have a website listed as www.naturesplus.com , hope this helps.
The nice thing like I said was that I was able to buy it in a store, not
have to order it online. Good luck! Tammy O. , AZ

Are you sure you're supposed to take 6 a day?! If you compare the label of
a children's chewable (with iron) against an adult vitamin, you'll find
that the children's version has the same amount (and more of some vitamins)
than the adult ones do. So, if your doctor wants you to take 6 children's
vitamins a day, he'd also want you to take 6 adult chewables. I take 2
store-brand children's chewables a day.

Nutrinate Chewables (prescription) - taste pretty good!

I have to agree with the others and say I don't know why you were advised
to take SIX. Anyway, it's much easier to go get the orange flavored
(adult)Centrums chewables and take two a day. I didn't mind those at all.
After I finished that bottle, I started buying my multivitamin from
www.vitalady.com. It's pretty big so I would break it in half and take it
that way, but it's much cheaper than Centrum and you can buy in quantity.

My nutritionist put me on Country Life's Adult Chewable Multivitamins. They
are online and at some health food stores (about $16 for 60 wafers).
