Question:
Has anyone experienced gas pain so bad they are doubled over and ready to cry
I have tried to figure out what did this. APPLES?? Has anyone had this writhing around form of gas/then diareah after eating an apple. I am almost 1 year out and this was my first apple. ANY insight would be very much appreciated :-)Penny Collins — pcollin4 (posted on July 1, 2003)

Yes! I am two and a half years out and still have that problem. Don't
really know what can be done.

it's probably the sugar in the apple. I haven't had it from apples persay
but have experienced the gas your talking about. Miserable! Usually after
I eat bread :>(

I do not know what it was that I ate but I had terrible pains. We were at a
baseball game and I thought I was going to have to leave and go to the
hospital. It kind of felt like labor pains. Ouch !! I had no idea it was
gas until later when it started to go out. I would have been so embarassed
if I had gone to the er.

Hi, Penny: I didn't get pains from apples, but several years ago I was
having such severe pains that I was doubled over. I had absolutely NO idea
what could be causing it, so I went to the Immediate Care center and they
did an x-ray and lo and behold, it was gas. I thought I was gonna die of
humiliation before I died of the pain! They said not to feel bad, that gas
pains can be really terrible, but I was still mortified!

I did really bad when I mixed a banana in with a Carnation Instant
Breakfast. Now I am trying fruit a little bit at a time. I had three
small chunks of cantelope and my insides churned, but they did taste good
and I had slight diareah. So fruit cleans me out I guess.

I am pre-op, and my doctor told us to watch out for things with tough
skins, could that be it?

I keep it. The doc says is from too much air, or eating things that cause
gas like beans. Even if they are cooked in vinegar, they still cause gas.
My doc recommended using activated charcol to help. Haven't tired it yet,
so don't know if it works or not. I have tired the liquid mylanta anti gas,
and that does help, but makes me constipated (that's a BIG change from
preop LOL!!) Lotsaluck!!

I find if I go too long without eating, I get VERY bad gas pains. For me,
4-5 hours is as long as I can go without eating.

I had a terrible bout with gas pain.. I could barely walk. It hurt to
breathe. I took some mylanta ani-gas and the pain went away. I assure you I
was on my way to the hospital while in the car it started to go away but
always call your doctor if trouble persists!
