Question:
What do u do when u gain weight in the honeymoon period?
Hello, im 14 weeks post-op, and i just went to weigh myself on the same scale as always, and it says i gained 2lbs, im really disappointed, and im doing everything that im suppose to. I drink 64oz of water, i walk 2 miles a day, i eat what i can, i try to get in all my protein, but it doesn't always happen. What am i doing wrong here? — sexysag37 (posted on June 9, 2003)

Your not doing anything wrong..it is totally normal. Your body weight will
occasionally fluctuate up and down. I often gained a pound or two or
three, and then lost it plus more a few days later. At 16 mo post-op, the
same thing still happens but at this stage, it stays within a certain 3
pound range now. To not get frustrated, stay off the scale, or if you are
like me and like to weigh daily, don't let it depress you.

weighing all the time is the worst way to see if you are losing. That same
2 lbs. could be gone tomorrow. Are you premenstrual? If so you could have a
bigf week after your period that will make up for this weeks
disappointment. My best advice is to stop weighing yourself more than once
a week. If you are not getting enough protein your body will go into
starvation mode and hang onto everything for dear life. If this weight gain
is a first then I would not get to concerned but then again you might want
to write down what you are eating each day so that you can evaluate if you
are getting all the right stuff or too much of something that is not the
best for you. Good Luck!
