Hi Sharon,
I had my RNY on July 18th, 2002 and my pre-op weight was 302 lbs and I'm
5'5". To date I've lost 132 lbs. I have noticed that as the months
have progressed I have been eating alittle more, but my surgeon said that
is normal and my pouch will stretch, I can eat between 4-5 ounces of food
at a sitting and I typically eat 4 times a day. I don't ever really
"feel" hungry but sometimes when I get stressed or frustrated or
bored I think I'm hungry but I will go for a walk or find something to
occupy myself. I hope this helps.

I'm 5'6", 300lbs and a size 26. I'm now 160lbs after my PS on March
31st and a size 8. Take a look at my profile if you want to see pics. I
think I remember being down right around 70lbs at about 4 months post op. I
think your right on track. I also remember being able to start eating a
little more. Just make sure that what your eating is protien to keep you
fuller longer. I was never one of those people who had to force myself to
eat. I was always hungry except for rare instances where nothing sounded
good. Don't worry, your doing fine and its normal to get some appetite
back. Just don't graze!

Hi Sharon! I am only 6 weeks post op, but I started at 292 and I am 5'5'
too. According to my home scale, I now weigh around 260. Your loss sounds
about right to me, although I stupidly thought the weight would just melt
off so much faster. Congratulations on your loss so far!

hello! my surgery was feb 20, 2003. my weight when i left the hospital
was 299.7. i was one of those who gained weight while lying there eating
nothing. go figure! i am down 57 lbs and i do eat more than i use to. i
only get hungry sometimes and try to use good sense when that happens. i
still get full quickly and eat protein first. i drink a protein shake
every morning for breakfast. i have finally realized that like everyone
has said this is just a tool and i still have to watch what i eat. bummer
since nothing really tastes good anyway! still it is the best thing i ever
did for myself. good job on your weight loss. i guess we all think the
worst when we are worrying about getting to goal. good luck to all of us!

Hi, My surgery was on Jan 27th. this year and i have lost about 70# and am
almost the same weight and height as you so, as for being on track with
your loss, I believe you are doing just great and you are on track so keep
up the good work!

I was 320 and 5'5". It has been about 10 months, and I have lost 147
lbs. I have gone from a 32 to a 14 bottom and 12 top. Do I have loose
skin and flappy arms? YES!!! But I am much healthier and happier. Keep
up the good work, you are doing great.

Hi, I had my open RNY on 7/25/02. I started at 335, but I'm also
5'5". I've lost 155 pounds, and am wearing loose 14's and the
occasional 12. I think I have about 30 pounds to go, but if I don't take
all of them off, I have no complaints. My appetite has certainly expanded,
as I assume my pouch has, but I can't eat anywhere even close to what I did
before. I get full quickly, and have learned to listen to my body tell me
when I've had enough. You're off to a good start--keep up the great work!

Hi there! I had surgery on Feb 27, 03 and so far have lost 61 pounds and 4
sizes. We are almost twins!! I agree with you about the eating more, but
only with certain things, denser foods still fill me up quicker and longer.
