Question:
Looking to make contact with people who have had this surgery
I would like to make contact with people who have had Adjustible Lap Band surgery -- especially laproscopically. I have been all over the web, but this is the best site. So, if you have had this procedure, and would be willing to answer some questions and chat about it, I would love to hear from you. — Pat M. (posted on May 26, 2003)

Hi Pat, I am having Lap Band surgery on June 26th in NY. I have found that
bandsters (Yahoo message board) has a concentration of people who have had
the surgery and may be willing to talk to you. I also use a local NY group
called LIBanders on Yahoo. Finally, this site is coming around with some
resources. There is a message board that I found while looking around the
site since it was redesigned. If the link makes it then you can click on
it, otherwise you will have to put it (the entire address) into your
address bar on your browser. It should take you there. Good Luck and here
is the AMOS link:

I am also preband hoping to be banded by july.If you go to the gallery page
on this site and click on DS forum when you get to that forum on the top
left of the page there is a pull dowm menu click on lapband and it will
take you to the forum (Dont know why its so hard loks like they were hiding
it). Also spotlighthealth.com has info and a support group for Lap Band and
like the first post said the yahoo groups bandsters boards. You will not
find many here who have been banded most will be RNY but there is still a
lot of good info here that pertains to all WLS.Also check out the Inamed
site the makers of the band, there you can print a copy of the patient
brochure.
Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Another place to find lots of bandsters is spotlighthealth.com, morbid
obesity, support groups. They have a support group just for bandsters!

I agree that you should check out the lap-band support board at
www.spotlighthealth.com.
You will also find several lap band groups under the groups section at
www.yahoo.com. I use Bandsters and SmartBandsters the most.
