Question:
Which protein shake/powder tastes most like Chocolate milk?
I am pre-op but want to make sure I get something that I will be able to drink-and I LOVE chocolate milk now. The chocolate SF CIB's are actually good. I have heard my tastes will more than likely change, is that right? — doit 2. (posted on May 9, 2003)

I love the SF CIB's also. I've noticed though, since surgery, that the
chocolate is TOO chocolatity (is that a word??). I only use half of an
enevelope for every 8 ozs of milk. I do use double strength milk, so even
using 1/2 of the CIB, I'm still getting 18 grams of protein. Best of luck
to you. Lisa (LAP RNY 12/2/02 - 241/180/125.

Try Real Meals chocolate. It has 60 grams of protein and tastes good.
There are also about 30 recipes on the website for when you get bored. I
like the cookies and cream. Go to www.pro9tein-solution.com they have
samples sizes available.

I always made my protien drinks with the protien powder, 1% milk and a
scoop of no sugar added nestle quick. Mmmmm tastes so good! I do not drink
the protien drinks anymore, I like using the protien bars instead. Good
luck!

Why do I feel more and more that people are trying to sell me various
products in these posts?

I've had the same question. I really would love the same thing. The
closest I've come seems to be Balance drink but it's something I only drink
now and again because it's more carbs and fat than I'd like. I really
dislike Real Meals, I don't even think it tastes like chocolate, and most
of the chocolate protein drinks try to imitate chocolate shakes and and
they DON'T cut it. I'm still using fruit based drinks because I can't find
anything I really like in the chocolate/vanilla category except for the
Balance drink which, as I said, I use sparingly.

I take issue with the person who said why do I feel like someone is trying
to sell me products? How else should we describe the protein drink that
tastes most like chocolate milk? Should I answer this woman by saying:
"Uh, the one I like, I won't name the names, but I add two scoops to a
glass of water, add an ice cube or two and then blend it with a stick
blender. Comes up thick when I add ice, kind of like a Frosty from Wendy's
oops, I mentioned names...but anyway, I love it and I'm sorry I cannot name
the name of the product for fear of offending someone. " <p>
Gheesh, give me a break. So, since I DO NOT receive any money from
recommending a product that I find to be tolerable...my favorite is
ProScore 100 which really mixes up thick and tastes like Ovaltine or
Chocolate Milk. 32g protein, 2 carbs. Email me privately and I'll tell ya
where to get it. Hope this helps, hon.--Jennifer, RNY and PS100 adict.

Everyone's tastes are different so what one likes will not be the same to
another's taste buds. Quite a few like the chocolate Proscore 100, but it
doesn't do anything for me (Sorry, Michelle!!). I actually liked a can of
chocolate Designer whey protein I bought at Trader Joe's better. Look for
100 percent whey protein isolate in whatever you buy as it is the best form
of protein for you as a post-op.

I like PURE PRO smooth chocolate by ABB. It's in a ready to drink can.It
has 35 g's of protein. Try it.

I also like Proscore 100 Chocolate (sorry, Cindy!), but it tastes more like
chocolate cake batter, to be honest. Also, Chocolate Whey Stack is also
very chocolatey. Whatever brand you try, you can also try adding in a
little bit of sugar-free Jello chocolate pudding powder to strengthen the
chocolate flavoring. Enjoy!

I'm a PS100 girl, myself. 2 sc + 8 oz water + some ice. Heaven. I also like
the Stack. Same combo, but I can do 6 oz water & can do it without the
ice if I must. Tje PS100 is more milk-chocolatey, the Stack is more like a
melted fudgesicle. And, oh, Cindy? I have the tongue police on the way to
adjust that little discrepancy there. You SHALL be saved!

Personally I loked High Protein Boost, chocolate the best. I added water
and 2% milk to lower the carb/sugar content.

Optimum Pure Whey Protein Shakes. Mixes up like Nestle's Quick. Thin, not
gloppy and gross. They also have vanilla and other flavors...good
products. Diane N

Jennifer E.:
I am sorry if you "take issue" with my stating my opinion. Did
you read the post about the product that reads exactly like an
advertisement? Maybe you didn't read the posts. Or maybe you can't
understand that OBVIOUSLY I don't have a problem with people writing about
products they like. I've done it several times. BUT, there are a few
people on here who DO make $ from selling products, and it gets old reading
posts about those products every time. There are lots of things you can do
with your time other than get upset about a post like mine that you didn't
even understand. Again, sorry to offend you (geesh!)
