I have raging middle back pain for a week or two with every twent pounds I
lose. I am definitely standing and sitting straighter than I used to and I
hold my stomach in all the time too. My doc says that it is my frame unable
to keep up with the rapid weight loss. I have found that the only thing
that trult helps is upper body weight training to strengthen those upper
back muscles. I do it with one of those giant rubber band things and after
just a few day I am much better!

Do you still have your gallbladder? That's where I would feel the pain the
worst.

I had the same pain and went to the chiropractor. I had ribs dislocated.
He said that when you lose weight this fast the rib cage shifts faster than
the body can adjust to it. The ribs were poking into the muscles and
causing pain. Some days I could barely get through the work day and spent
most of the evening laying down. I finally got my boss to go in due to her
back pain and she has the same thing happening. I can truely say that now
I am mostly pain free. The days that it does act up I can blame it on poor
posture, because as soon as I straighten up, the pain stops. Good luck.

I had the exact same thing for about the first six months. I never got a
definite explanation as to why. But my doctor prescribed Vioxx and it
worked without making me feel drugged up.

I've been, and still am, suffering with low and mid back pain since 3 weeks
from surgery, which was 4/5/02. It's pretty much been attributed to muscle
spasms in my abdomen. It's finally started getting better these last few
weeks, because of having an acupressure treatment done. I sure hope your
pain goes away soon!!
