Question:
Is anyone else experiencing relentless burping long-term post-op?
I am 11 months post-op (RNY) and have been burping since 3 months out. On the good days, it's bad. On the bad days, it is relentless: I burp from the time I get up until I fall asleep. Gastroenterological tests show zip; prescribed meds, ditto. Has anyone else dealt with this horrible side-effect? — Lisa P. (posted on April 24, 2003)

Lisa,
Oh I feel for you, how-ever I'm just the opposite now after open RYN and
I'm at 11 months too, I couldn't even produce a burp for you if I had
too......
Wanna trade, becuase there are times that I could really use a good burp ~!

I swear my Husband is more proud of my Burps than my weight-loss!! 19
months post-op. I try to not burp in resturants and public places but
sometimes it happens and Thats when i blame it on the hubby or the kids :-)

LOL!!! Yes, I amaze myself at my burps. Why do we burp so? I guess it is
better and less embarassing than coming out the other end!!! God Bless and
continued success to you.

I am 6 weeks out and I burp all the time too!! Sometimes, it feels like I
need to burp, but I can't. I am so glad that the gas is coming out of my
mouth and not my butt!!
