Question:
3 Month Bloodwork: Cholesterol still high...any suggestions?
I had my 3 month bloodwork (about 3 weeks late due to injuries sustained in a car accident) and everything looks great as far as protein, iron, B12 etc. The nurse supervisor even circled my protein levels and wrote "GREAT!" next to it. My blood pressure has plummented since surgery (it was running high and now my top number is below 100) but my cholesterol remains high with elevated numbers for the bad cholesterol. My surgeon faxed the results to my PCP who once told me that if I didn't see a drop in cholesterol after surgery I might need to go on meds. I really don't want to do that but I'm not sure what I can do that I am not doing now other than vigorously exercising (I can't until my physical injuries are resolved). Any suggestions or should I just wait some more? — susanje (posted on April 19, 2003)

Did it drop at all? Have you tried Coromega? It's the one form of Oomega 3
& 6 that I KNOW we can absorb. The right kinds of EFA's help lower
cholesterol, and put those 2 back in balance. It's not magic, but it might
tip the numers in your favor even a bit.

Did you fast before your bloodwork? I didn't fast before mine, because
they didn't tell me to, and my cholesterol was higher then before surgery.
If you didn't fast, I'd ask to have it done again.
