Question:
What topics can I know will be of interest to WLS patients?
I am trying to involve the hospital I work at in having a WLS program, not just lleaving WLS patients fending for themselves but a coordinated approach using hospital resourses. I have a group of patients already together and want to have interesting and helpful meetings. Please forward any ideas that have worked for you. Anything besides a support group that the hosptial should work on before, during and after the surgery. I have a passion for helping the MO patient. — Ellen W. (posted on April 15, 2003)

Ellen, what a coincidence!! I thought of exactly the very same thing where
I work. As a matter of fact, I spoke with the Public Relations Officer this
morning. Molly was EXTREMELY interested in what I had to say about helping
the MO patient. I have the same *passion* as you and I see some things
where I work that are utterly disgusting and some seem to just turn their
heads and go the other direction. I'd be interested in discussing some of
what I have with you. Then, along with our Dietetic Department, I plan on
presenting a proposal to our Medical Center Director. I have high hopes!
Can we talk? If interested, please email me at: [email protected]. LAP RNY
