Question:
AMOS MOD HERE. BE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR PROFILE!

Every now and then a tech glitch causes a profile to disappear. I know how important my profile is to me. We recommend EVERYONE perodically print out your profile and put it in a safe place. That way if a bug gets your profile you will still have a copy.<P> There are ways to copy it to your computers hard drive too but I forgot how. Perhaps someone will post it.<P> HAVE A GREAT DAY!    — bob-haller (posted on March 29, 2003)

Here's how I backed mine up. Go to where you update the profile and highlight the text. You do this by holding the button down on the mouse and scrolling until it's all highlighted. Then press Ctrl and while holding it down, press the letter "c". This copies the text. Then open your word processing software, I use Word, and in a blank document press the Shift key, and while holding it down, press Insert. This will paste the infotmation into your word document. Then name it and save it.

Hi Bob! The easiest way to store your profile onto your hard drive is to copy the text and html codes from your profile in "General Info" by clicking Ctrl + A for Select All, then Ctrl + C to Copy. Then open either Notepad or Wordpad. Put your cursor on the blank page and then click Ctrl + V to paste all the text and codes from your profile there. Now click on File at the top of your Notepad or Wordpad page and then click "Save As.." where you can name the document and save it wherever you'll be able to find it later. I do this everytime I update my profile to make sure nothing gets lost. Hope that wasn't too confusing :-)

Here's a way to do it w/o all the copy and paste: <p> Right click on your profile pageand then click VIEW SOURCE. This opens a Wordpad window. Click FILE, then SAVE AS. And then type you can type in what you want to call the page, probably "PROFILE" or something. Then click save. <p> Hope this helps!

Another, real easy way to save your profile...go to your profile page, click on file, save as and then save your profile to your my documents folder on your hard drive. It saves as an html page, so if you have to re-create it, you can just upload it again to your page. Good Luck and Have a Sparkling Journey!! ~CAE~

Wow the easy save works great, although I still think a hard copy tossed in a drawer is a good idea. Of course I have had repeated computer troubles and once lost it ALL, including 2 years of business stuff. All to a bad harddrive and corrupted backup. Since then low tech is also good tech for me.
