Question:
Post Op, Need individual insurance coverage that will cover WLS concerns, who provides it?
I was layed off from my job and am on Cobra right now. But I would like to get my own insurance. I have Pacificare right now. I am told that it is next to impossible to get coverage with pre existing conditions. Does anyone know of any insurance companies that will insure us...Thanks in advance! I would suggest that you keep your cobra!! My employer allowed my group
insurance to be cancelled because he didn't pay the bill and I tried to get
an individual policy through BCBS because that is where our group policy
was through. I was told that NO insurance co. would provide individual
coverage for 5 years because of my bypass surgery. I was stunned!! I have
told my employer that he MUST get a new group insurance, now!! I checked
with an insurance agency and they confirmed this. If anyone knows of any
company that WILL provide individual covers, I would also love to know
about it.

I had Pacificare before they pulled out of KY and had no problems. I was
also on COBRA. Just keep making the payments. It is cheaper than trying to
be self insured.
