Question:
I have John Deere through Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Does this insurance cover bariatric surgery? What are the requirements to get it covered? — Kerri H. (posted on March 15, 2003)

I hope I can help somewhat. No I dont have your insurance, but if you check
with the dr. in the quad cities area. Like Dr. Seigert, DR. mcfarlin, and
Dr. Roth. they have lost of John Deere patient. I dont know where you are
looking at for your surgery but the dr.'s here are none to be really good.

John Deere has covered WLS-depends on your policy. You can always call and
ask for a copy of policy.
I'm fighting Aetna now through grievance process. Have Dr. Glascock in
Cedar Falls-does Lap RNY!
He has website-obesityhelpiowa.com or maybe just obesityiowa.com. You need
to be checking with your DR. and
working on medically necessary and documented supervised diets now-just in
case they require them. Good luck.

I have JD Select and had my surgery w/Dr Coster in Grinnell. They approved
my WLS very quickly, but have denied my TT 2 times now.
