Question:
ANYONE else have bad vericose veins? Had them removed?

I am 25 years old and no post op for 1 year. I have awful vericose veins (the kind that bulge out) in my left leg only. THey are so terrible I wont even wear shorts or skirts. I have had them for several years and now that I have lost 172 lbs they look even worse because my legs are not swollen anymore. DOes anyone else have this problem? Has anyone ever had surgery to have those terrible things removed? I looked so foward to being a normal size, but I still feel terrible about wearing summer clothing. Thanks Jennifer    — Jennifer W. I had mine removed in 1999. It's called a stripping and ligation. Mine were horrible and hurt. I had both legs done at the same time. I had over 50 incisions in my legs. I was back to work in 3 weeks (as soon as the staples came out).Pain, not much. Just discomfort. It takes well over a year to heal and the scar tissue to settle down. It was worth it.
