I lost 14 lbs in my first month postop and about 13 more in the second
month. I have lost in my face and shoulders. My belly is still bigger
than I'd like it to be but overall I am losing. I'm a slow loser and I've
been tweaking my program all along so that I can get the most benefit from
this surgery. For about six weeks I felt very fatigued and just wanted to
sleep all the time. My energy has been increasing and I've increased my
protein and exercise this week (water is still hard but I'm trying!).
I think that if you are a slow loser, that is something that you need to
come to terms with. It was hard for me, especially after the first month,
but it gets better. Stop comparing yourself to others and if you do, make
sure you do the full comparison. For example, I was comparing myself to
people whose BMIs were much higher than mine and that is just not apples
and apples. Also, since I started exercising, I could be putting on
muscle. I am definitely losing inches. I try on old clothing once a week
or so and didn't get into "old" clothes until about six weeks
postop. And every few days I seem to get into another thing. It will get
better but don't dwell on your weight loss compared to others. That will
only depress and upset you. Think about your weight loss in terms of how
you used to lose. I've never lost 27 lbs in 2 months and I'm really happy
when I think about it that way.

I am 5 weeks plus a day post op, and although I've lost 34 pounds and 12
inches, I am still in the same size pants! I lost in my face, neck,
shoulders, feet, but not my big old butt! My shirt sleeves are soo long
they now cover my hands, but they still fit me around my hip/butt area
snug, but a little less snug than before. It's weird how your body decides
where it's going to come off first. Just be patient, it will come off
eventually!

Don't worry about it. Just like the amount of weight varies with each
person so does where each person loses it first. I was really worried too
because after losing over 50 pounds I had only dropped one pant size! When
you do start dropping sizes, it usually happens quickly. At least in my
experience it did. Good luck!
