Question:
Anyone ever ride motorcycles after surgery
I was just wondering also if anyone here ever rides motorcycles! I'm not a "biker chick"(not that there is anything wrong with them) but we ride occasionally with a local group of Road Star owners on various family outings... anyway I had surgery - Lap RNY in December and wondered if I could ride now or not - or would it "jingle" my insides too much! — Tammy T. Hi Tammy, I am a biker chick. My surgery is scheduled for March 14, 2003. I
ride a trike and my husband rides a Harley. I do plan to ride. I'm going to
do everything I'm suppose to do so that I have an uneventful recovery.
Can't wait!!!!

Before surgery I wrote down the reasons for surgery and had two columns.
One was health and one was vanity. On the vanity list was riding my bike.
I looked into it before surgery and there was no reason why I could not
ride again. Since I'm small (5'2) and ride a Harley that needed to be
custom fit to my size I also worried about getting to be "too
small" to handle a bike but I don't think that will be a problem. I'm
finishing law school and just sold my gorgeous HD XLH in January but prior
to that when I was riding it, people would stop and compliment the bike but
as I gained more and more weight I felt selfconscious on it. Leather
jackets are uncomforable when you are squeezing into the biggest women's
size (I'm not wearing a man's jacket). On my post op "to do"
list is walking into a Harley dealer next year and getting a new bike. In
my moments of frustration, that sustains me.

Hi, I had Lap RNY on 6/18/02, and was riding by the end of July. No pain
or problems with it at all.

I rode before at 300lbs and now at 170lbs. I feel alot more confident and
comfortable now, plus I LOOK alot better on it! hehe! I ride a 750 Honda
Magna. I had my surgery in Oct. so I waited until April to ride (Live in
Seattle).

I'm far enough out now not to damage or juggle my insides around too
much... so I'm going!! Thanks to all who posted!!
