Question:
Worried I am not loosing as fast as I should at 5 months out.

Why am I not loosing as I should could it be that I had to have open surgery instead of laproscopic.Ihave only lost 70 lbs since October, only 5 in the past month.    — Dolores A. (posted on February 10, 2003)

you have lost 70 lbs since OCT ? Thats not fast ??? wow If thats not wonderful .. Ill take it anyday . I think youre doing GREAT .. Keep up the good work I hear around 6 months weight loss slows but by no means stops .. just keep doing all that you have been doing and it will keep coming down ,,and again congrats .. thats wonderful

Hey Dolores, don't be bummed. 70 pounds is great! Not everyone loses at the same rate. I am going to say the same thing everyone else either has or is going to....protein first, water and exercise to get the pounds off. You are doing wonderful...could you have done this before you had surgery?? I know I couldn't!!

NO, your weightloss has nothing at all to do with having open instead of lap. That only relates to the external type of incision. I agree with the previous poster, you weight loss is excellent!! Keep up the great work!! Shelley

70 pounds ROCKS GIRL! I am 4.5 months out and have only lost 55lbs. Count each and every pound gone as a blessing!

You are NOT losing SLOW at all. Remember the big picture....100 - 120 pounds in 10 months to 1 year....you are already more than half way there and still have 7 more months !!!

i am pre-op my insurance sucks i have been dieting and starving for 4 months while my appeal is taking place i have lost 7 pounds 7 little pounds in 4 months, your 70 sounds great to me, sorry you are dissapointed with it.
