Question:
HAS ANYONE HAD WLS AFTER FIGHTING AN EXCLUSION?

My insurance has an exclusion for wls in the policy. Has anyone fought this and won My insurance is bc/bs of Tn.    — lnelson (posted on January 8, 2003)

Sorry, I had Valley Health and there was an exclusion--they never paid a cent. I now have BC/BS in Wisconsin but they also have the exclusion because of my employer wishes it that way. Good luck in your struggle !

Yes! My insurance had an exclusion, and I appealed to my HR department and won! Please don't give up! Walter Lindstrom is a master at helping also.....I didn't use them, but they help lots of folks. I would recommend that when you approach your HR department, you remember that they ARE you employer and that those people are not the decision makers either. They just represent the decision makers - be nice!!

Please see my bio. I beat a written exclusion. It is not legal to exclude a needed surgery - this is discrimination. Fight it and they should back down. If you have any questions, Please let me know.
