Question:
Pain when drinking 5 months post op?
I am 5 months post-op Lap RNY. Recently I have had more problems with food getting stuck. Yesterday I ate some meat loaf (Which I have eaten before with no problems) It got stuck and I threw it up 3-4 hours later. It now also hurts to drink, even water. As soon as it gets to my pouch I can feel a sharp pain. I called my surgeon and the nurse talked to the DR. and he said to take Gaviscon or Mylanta today and stick with clear liquids until tomorrow. The nurse was not very helpful, I think his regular nurse is on vacation. She seemed to just pass it off as the flu. I don't know that the doctor got the correct information from her. Anyone know what this might be or have any advice? Thanks in advance for your help. I guess I forgot to mention I was diagnosed with a marginal ulcer a few weeks after surgery. Do you think that this is still causing problems? — tulagirl (posted on December 27, 2002)

Whenever I get stomach problems, which I haven't gotten for afew months
now, I go on a clear liquid diet for 2 days and then on pureeded for 2 days
and it clears them up. Good Lux
