Question:
Sugar Replacements with Whey

Has anyone ever tried WHEY low sugar replacement products? I'm 7 mos post-op -105 lbs and still can't get past the aftertaste from Equal, Splenda & Sweet-N-Low.    — Annette H. (posted on December 6, 2002)

Have you tried using granulated fructose or turbinado sugar? Both wonderful natural sugars. Visit my profile page for website for some recipes and a recipe book with wonderful desserts: www.freewebs.com/recipes-after-rny

Both of the previous poster's suggestions are SUGAR, so be careful. Yes they have been processed less, but if you dump on sugar, you will most likely dump on those. I'd like to know more about the whey sweetener.

I like stevia for most things - VitaLady.com has a product called SugarLike that she swears is indistinguishable from the *Real Deal*. I think most of it is a matter of retraining our tastebuds, and getting used to substitutes. Good luck!
