Question:
How can I jumpstart my weight loss? I have lost 100 pounds in 4 months but I have
stopped losing. How can I get the weight loss to start back again. I am not losing anything now. Could it be I have lost all I'm going to? I started out at 360 and now at 260. Help? Thanks. — Judy W. (posted on December 5, 2002)

That's a LOT of weight in such a short time. Your body has to adjust to
the new weight. Give it some time, step up your exercise and watch what
you eat and you should be able to break the plateau soon.

I'm pre-op, but I've already talked to the nutritionist about this. She
said to remember that the weight loss is an 18 month process.
I've read a lot of the Qs&As about Plateaus on this site,
including those in the Library. Everyone says
(1) They Happen,
(2) They end if you eat right and excercise,
(3)
Sometimes you can speed the end either by adding to your calories --
because the body has gone into starvation mode and comes out if you eat a
little more, and
Sometimes it helps to increase your protein and
water intake.
Good luck.

hi there! first congrats on your weight loss! i agree with ohters, give it
time for body to adjust to the rapidity of it all. youll notice a slow as
it goes on which is normal. im going through a slow phase but still losing
thank god! to break a plateu some things you can try are uping water,
exercise and protein. take a look at your intake. are you eating too much
or not enough? ive also read a suggestion in a womans cook book that had
wls. she said as a rule she was on a very very low carb program for herself
but when she would hit a stubborn plateu shed freak her body a little by
adding a baked potato to her diet or something her body wasnt used to
eating and it worked like a charm for her everytime. please try some of
these things. ive also heard that shrimp being very high in protein and
eating spinach is sure to break a plateu. good luck to you.:)
