Post Ops: did your pain decrease or remain the same?

Hi; I may not be the best to answer this becuse I had a BMI of 40.4. I have
lost 25 lbs in 6 weeks and I was having terrible hip, knee and foot pain
prior to surgery. I feel soooo much better. My hips arent as stiff. My feet
dont hurt , and i walk up the stairs w/o my knees hurting as well.
Hopefully you will see the same results...good luck and aloha Keniki

I am only 9 days post op, but it has decreased dramatically over the last 9
days. Best of luck.

I had a BMI of 48.2 before surgery and had a lot of hip and lower back
pain, especially when I went to bed and then tried to get up the following
morning. It was aweful. I am now only about 4 months post-op and probably
a little more than 70 pounds gone and I can tell you I feel at least 90%
better! Of course I still have hip and back pain every now and then but
nothing like the day in and day out, 24/7 that I had prior to surgery. I am
just amazed at how good I feel and how much energy I have now compared to
then. Good luck!

I am only 6 weeks post op and have gone from 281 to 244 and I can honestly
say all of my back, hip, knee and ankle pain are gone! I went shopping
today for 7 hours. I was only my feet for 61/2 of those and my only pain
was my feet. I made the mistake of shopping in brand new shoes!

Before surgery I was in constant pain in my legs, especially my knee and I
had lost most of the feeling on the outside of my right leg. I had a lot
of nerve pain. I am now 3 1/2 months post-op and have been doing walking
and arm exercises and the only pain I am dealing with is arthritis in my
right shoulder, which eases up significantly when I do my arm exercises. I
am so grateful for the changes in my legs. No pain and it does not hurt to
walk. This surgery is an answer to my prayers and the only thing I have
to do if I waver in my daily food plan is remember the pain pre-op and my
behavior corrects itself almost immediately--what a wonderful incentive to
stay with the program!

Prior to surgery I had little or no joint pain. I'm 3 months post op and
down 55#'s and now have pain. My lower back is sore, and my knees and hips
hurt. All of my blood work has come back fine. I am trying to work thur
the discomfort with massages and a personal trainer==which is helping.
