Question:
Why did my doc order all those different test before getting my date?

I've seen alot of members had to have physc evails and sleep studies and a few more, but my doc hasn't said anything about any of these. The only test that I have scheduled is the pre-op test 6 days before the surgery. Is there something amiss here?    — Helen W. (posted on November 26, 2002)

hi there. i think it depends on the surgeon,insurance,maybe state of health of the patient. i had to go through only 2 tests. a veinous doppler for the legs to rule out any existing blood clots and blood work right before surgery. i would have had to have a gallbladder ultra sound but had gallbladder out years ago. i was suprised becuase another person that had my same surgeon had to go through, lung xrays and cardio clearance first so i think it depends. best of luck to you. :)
