Question:
Sugar Free Cappuccino???
Do any of you know where I could purchase LOTS (lol) of sugar free cappuccino or Latte'? How do you do with coffee after the surgery? Is it possible to have a cup a day, once you get pass the first couple months post-op? I just want to thank everyone in this wonderful group!!! You are so helpful and I learn soooo much from you guys. Like many of you, I look forward to spending lots of time reading your posts and profiles, etc. HAVE A GREAT START TO THE NEW WEEK :O) Josii* — meltedbuttr (posted on November 11, 2002)

I don't know about the Cappuccino as I like my coffee weak but I drink
around 2-3 cups a day (usually regular not decaf). I have no problems with
it, but I HATE STRONG coffee and I'm thinking the cappuccino is strong?

I really enjoy the General Foods International Coffees "French Vanilla
Cafe". It is a powdered drink mix and you just add hot water. It is
sugar free, fat free, and naturally decaffinated. It has 5g of carbs and 25
calories per serving. It is really yummy - not quite as sweet as regular
cappucino, but that is a good thing. Many people don't like the super
sugary taste after surgery. If you did want it just a little sweeter you
could just add a packet of your favorite artificial sweetner. I'm not sure
if they have other sugar free flavors, but I see on the side of the tin
here the website is www.gfic.com - I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

General Foods International Coffee also makes a naturally decaffinated
Swiss Mocha that's yummy. Maybe you could start with that as a base and mix
something else up in it to get the froth. I'm not sure what you would
mix..... I'm not that creative :)

I drink International Coffee surgar free French Vanilla Cafe, it is very
good and sugar and fat free. Total carbs read 5g but sugar carbs read
zero. Calories are 25, sodium is 65. I find this to be a very good one
and drink it almost everyday.

I am a big coffee drinker and usually drink 2 cups a day. I put a little
half & half and a scoop of Sanalac nonfat dry milk in my coffee. I stir
it with a whisk (because that brand of dry milk is very fine) and it foams
up and tastes just like a latte. I like that I am getting a little protein
with my morning coffee because I am not a big breakfast eater, so 5-10
grams of extra protein helps me start the day. Or is it the caffeine??? LOL

I LOVE coffee and missed it for the first few months post op. I mix my
coffee with half decaf at home or order decaf at restaurants. I love lattes
(quit laughing Diane)...
get yourself a French Press and make some really strong coffee, add half
steamed skim milk, and add some SF flavored syrup (www.vitalady.com). I
have one or two of these every day.
My rule is that I have to drink enough water to mach the caffeine I have
had for the day, and still have to drink the other 64 ounces. Then I don't
worry about the dehydration.
Drink On!
