Ot could depend on where your legs feel numb. When I was at 8 days out, I
have a numb tailbone, two numb heels, and a numb right thigh. The main
reason that caused that was because I had a 6 hour surgery and they went
numb from being on the hard table for so long. The tailbone because of
lying in the hospital bed so much and the leg because of the strap they
used. I have pervious leg numbness before surgery, but it was never like it
is now. It has gotten worse. There can be some temporary nerve damage
caused from the straps and also from rapid weight loss. You should be OK.
Talk to you doctor about it and he might want to do an ultrasound of your
legs to make sure you don't have any blood clots. You should be fine. Some
say it can take months for the numbness to go away and it will probably get
worse before it gets better. Mine is.

hi there. my friend had open rny on 9-19-02, three days after me. my legs
were never numb, but hers were. it is getting better with time. i know she
only has a little numbness left now. our surgeon told her that it does
happen to some people and some not. i got lucky, i guess. i hope if get as
lucky with the hair loss. LOL. anyway, i hope that helps.

I was the same way, and it was from resting, I would say get up and walk
around as much as possible, that took care of it for me.
