Question:
On Depro, usually don't have period...but I am now?
I usually don't get a period on Depro (been on it for years) and if I get anything remotely like one, it is usally toward the end of my shot duration. Anyhow, almost two weeks now of light menstrual bleeding, cramps and the whole gamut and my shot is due next week. Anyone else have this unusual experience? I assume it is due to the surgery...just tired of having this period! — missmollyk (posted on October 29, 2002)

I've been on Depo Provera since 1994. Occassionally when I am toward my
due date for my injection I will start bleeding. Irregular bleeding is
normal with Depo Provera and having had surgery and losing weight cause
hormones to go a little crazy. Right after surgery I had my period for 6
weeks straight.

Molly, I am having the exact same problem. No period on Depo for 4 years.
Then I started loosing weight and now I get them. I just had my shot in
September and I started on on Sunday. My OB said it is just a release of
hormones due to the weight loss, but my PC is not confortable with that
theory. I think I am going to see another OB for a second opinion. I just
want to make sure that the Depo is still working.
