Question:
Has anyone tried egg protein?
I am unable to whey protein and soy is also ruff on my intestional track(running to the bathroom alot). Has anyone tried egg protein powder? Does it come in tasteless form, and what is a good brand? Thanks in advance. — sandy W. (posted on October 9, 2002)

Deb El makes a product called Just Whites. It is 100% dried egg whites. 1
teaspone is 3 grams--I put it on everything. It is tasteless. Its only 6
calories per teaspoon. You should be able to find it in any grocery store
in the baking section.

Sandy, I just tried an Egg White Protein Shake Powder (chocolate flavor)
called "Jay Robb's Delicious Egg White Protein." It has 24 grams
per serving, less than one carb, no fat, and no sugar. Unfortunately, I
must say it's not "delicious" to me :P and I much prefer Proscore
100 Chocolate, which is a whey protein (but whey is giving you trouble). I
think the previous poster's suggestion about adding Just Whites to your
foods is a better idea than using this particular protein shake powder.

I also have a problem with whey protein. At first, I thought it was the
skim milk that was giving me stomach problems, so I switched to soy milk.
I still had the problems. I was telling a co-worker, who happens to be a
bodybuilder, about this and she recommended the Labrada brand whey protein.
She said she no longer has stomach problems and doesn't need to take
lactaid if she uses this brand of protein powder. You can search the
internet to find it at pretty reasonable prices, but she said you can also
buy it at Gold's Gym.
