Question:
gallbladder questions
Anyone take actigal and still get there gallbladder out? Jen refused to take it and although all test results arent in it appears her gallbladder has stones. I wonder if the actigal would of prevented this?
Any chance of a non surgical fix for her gallbladder?
She wants to put off surgery to remove it. Is this a good idea?
I would appreciate some good advice. Jen is a small person and fears being intubated awake again. For her that was the worst part of WLS. — bob-haller (posted on October 4, 2002)

I already had stones when I had RNY, but because of blood issues, surgeon
didn't want to remove gall bladder at same time of WLS. Organ was healthy.
Did not take actigall. 13 months later had gall bladder out. Had several
attacks but none that were severe. Ultrasound showed stones in the neck,
so it was just a matter of time. I know several people who were severely
ill because of gall bladder disease, I didn't want to wait for that to
happen. So I was able to schedule surgery & have it removed before any
major problems. Surgery was short and uneventful. Woke up in much more
pain than with WLS, but was quickly brought under control. Came home the
same night (lap surgery). Sore for a couple of days and back to normal. I
think it's a good idea to take care of it before it becomes a bigger
problem, it's a lot easier!
