Question:
Does anyone know a person that has successfully had a baby after Gastric Bypass Surge

I have been told that you are to wait 12-18 months after surgery before thinking about having a baby, but I am wanted to hear some successful or failing stories of real people.    — Philippa F. (posted on October 4, 2002)

My daughter had lap RNY surgery January, 2000, and lost 210 lbs. before getting pregnant last October. She had an uncomplicated pregnancy and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in July. Her obstetrician consulted with our bariatric surgeon who recommended that she double her daily prenatal vitamins and have her labs checked every two months during the pregnancy. Within one month of delivery she was back to her pre-pregnancy weight, and is healthier and happier than ever. Good luck!
