Question:
Does anyone have a recipe for high protein jello? I am kind of tired of paying $1.50

for a little 4oz. serving from my Doctors' office, and would like to make my own, possibly using sugar-free jello and some form of protein, maybe Knox gelatin or something..lets put our heads together and make our own! Any suggestions? Sugar free jello has only 1gm of protein so something must be added..    — Carolyn G. (posted on October 3, 2002)

www.globalhp.com sells Procel a scoop is worth 5g protein, they have another kind I have not tried with calcium...anyway it does not alter the taste at all...but it does add a milky hue...makes it so it's not see through as jello usually is...I got my Jello on sale 3 for $1 and stocked up...the powder goes in anything...I add it to crystal lite, mashed potatoes, you name it...just adds that extra bite of protein....also got a sample of Protinex form somewhere a liquid stuff... I personally did not care for that...others may disagree....

When I was on liquids, one of my favorites was lime jello made with part water and part pineapple juice. I would let it set up partially and then add cottage cheese to it and run it thru the blender. At first it is very liquidy but the cottage cheese will firm up after refridgerating for a while. Good Luck

Give this a try...some people say eewwww because of the cottage cheese, but it is REALLY good! We call it CHELLO (hehehe). O.K., this is one of my favorite (almost daily), treats! Take 2 small packages of any sugar free jello and prepare as package says. While the jello is chill'in, take nonfat cottage cheese and whip it to the consistency of whipped cream. when the jello is set mix 1 cup of cottage cheese to the set jello using a hand blender, until well blended and let set until firm. Add a few spoonfuls of Cool Whip Free as an extra treat! Protein in 1/2 cup serving will be 15 grams.
