Question:
I am having severe neck pain and am wondering could it be referred pain?

I am 2 weeks post op Lap. and have had no problems whatsoever until 2 days ago when I woke up with what seemed to be a "crick" in my neck. It was almost unbearable the next day and bad now also. My surgeon allowed me to take Vioxx which has not done anything for the discomfort. I have also taken muscle relaxers which gave me very little relief. Could it possibly be trapped CO2 this long after sugery? It is 2:36 am and I WANT TO SCREAM!!!!!    — Sherry S. (posted on September 12, 2002)

Hi Shelley, I am 4 weeks post-op and I had the same pain in the hospital up until 2 weeks ago. They only thing that worked for me was rubbing the back of my neck and head with BENGAI

I would try a chiropractor for a couple sessions and see it that doesn't help. I would be careful with Vioxx though. My Dad developed an bleeding ulcer in just 2 days and died from that. Good Luck!
