Question:
Is there an excelant plastic surgon who removes bad wings in Jax, Fla?
I would like to find a doctor in my area that removes batwings and leaves little or no scaring? I have seen some surgeries and the scares are almost as bad as having the wings. They can do your face and leave no visable scares, why can't they do it for the arms? Maybe using tiny stitches or the glue instead of staples. Any referals are needed. Also does anyone know about how much it costs (my ins doesn't cover)? Any pics are also welcomed. Thanks alot. — sandy W. (posted on August 17, 2002)

I'm having a 2 part surgery on my arms. Last week, I had 250cc of fat
liposuctioned out of each arm (elbow to shoulder). That's about a can of
pop removed from each arm. In 3 months, I'm having the second part of my
arm surgery. The skin by that time will be very loose due to the
liposuction they performed last week and my surgeon is going to pull the
excess skin up under my armpi and cut off the excess skin and then sew it
up under the armpit. With this, the only place I'll have a scar is under
my armpit and the best part is, since he's cutting out that area under the
armpit, I'll never have to shave there again!!! My arm won't be REALLY
tiny but it will look normal sized without that horrible scar going from
elbow to armpit for the rest of my life.

Whoops, forgot to mention the cost - it will be $3600 ($1800 for the
liposuction - I already paid for that) and another $1800 to cut off the
excess skin. That surgery should last about an hour and a half at most.
The $3600 is just the surgeon's fee. I'd add on about $1000 for the
anesthesia and the surgery room.
