Are there any surgeons in Lexington, KY?

Dr. Randall Bolar is in Georgetown only minutes away from Lexington and he is one of the best . I do not know if he takes Medicare/Medicaid. I know that there is a doctor in Lexington but I have been told by other doctors that he does very few and has had several patients with complications. Dr. Bolar has had hardy any complications

Dr. Bolar is in Georgetown only few minutes from lex. He is great and very considerate Also go to georgetownsurgical.com to see about him and his office staff they are the best and will work with insurance in every way to get approval

dr bolar does not take passport so i dont know if he will take medicaid/medicare u may have to travel outside lexington. i had to go 90 miles from home to find a suitable surgeon good luck

Yes, UK has a great program. They have Dr. Alex Gandsas and Dr. Adrian Park. They do lap rny. Both doctors are highly respected in the medical community for their expertise in laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Gandsas did a man who was 450lb. lap. Four Louisville doctors had REFUSED to touch him. I had Dr. G. too, but they are both great! The phone # is 323-8941 or 257-6761, just ask for Tonya Carter.

I had laparoscopic roux en y gastric bypass on 5/28 with Dr. Edwin Nighbert of the Center for Weightloss Surgery At St. Joseph East Hospital. Dr. Nighbert and the staff have put together a wonderful program. They answer every question and provide support every step of the way. Also, they have a postoperative support group and I found that to be most helpful. I had a very positive experience. Dr. Nighbert and his team were just wonderful. My postoperative discomfort was minimal and I was back to work in two weeks. Also, the staff at St. Jo East were very caring. Every bariatric patient gets a private room.

I have called every surgeon I could find in Kentucky and have found that only Dr. Allen's group in Louisville takes Medicaid. I understand that St. Joesphs no longer does the surgery. I may be wrong, I just heard that. Dr. Allen's group takes a long, long time to get your first appoinment but I am waiting. There are 3 doctors in his group. The phone number is 502-583-8303.
