What is a Belt Lipectomies, and how does it compare to the tummy tuck?

A belt lipectomy is a circumferential body lift where the plastic surgeon
cuts aound the back and pulls excess skin from the rear end and the back
and the upper thighs, making a smoother torso and then turns you over and
does the same in front, "tucking" your abdomen, waist and
breasts. Belt lipectomies were first perfected at the University of Iowa-
see their web site under cosmetic surgery/belt lipectomy. A tummy tuck
just tucks the tummy, leaving lots of excess skin everywhere else. There
are some incredible photos at the UI site including one of a woman who
opted for just a tuck instead of the whole belt lipectomy. Good luck!
