Sure I have wine once in awhile, my surgeon says no problem.
Like everything, do it in moderation, 1 or 2 glasses consumed over a long
period of time is my limit. I have had no ill side effects from it. I have
read some people can get drunk very easy now with alcohol, so remember
MODERATION

Yes, occasionally a glass of wine, but it affects me very much. I
literally get drunk on half a glass of wine, but I recover within about 30
minutes. I will not drink anything if I have to drive, however.

1-3 BEERS A WEEK, SENCE WEEK 5. TRICK FOR ME IS A RED WINE GLASS AND SLOW
SIPS. I AM EVER MINDFUL OF CALORIC INTAKE ON DAYS WHEN I INDLUGE. NO
PROBLEMS, GOOD STEADY WEIGHT LOSS, WORKS FOR ME.

Wine??? OH YES!!! I may never be able to eat a whole hot fudge sundae
again, or dive into a double chocolate layer cake with fudge frosting...but
if I couldn't at LEAST have a glass of French Colombard or a wonderfully
dry bordeux, once in a while, I might as well pack it in! LOL I LOVES my
wine!!! but ALWAYS in moderation!

My surgeon and Rn said its fine to have wine. When did all of you first
have it after surgery? I am 22 years old and only plan on having it once in
a while, but am 9 weeks post-op, is it too early to now?

I was told by my doctor not to drink beer because of the carbonation. He
told me the same thing about soda. I actually tried to sip a beer last
weekend and felt very bloated afterward, so I stopped. He also told me
that wine was ok after week five to make sure the pouch was healed.

I drink beer cut with 1/4 of the glass of v-8 tomato juice, and a few
olives. this cuts the bubbles, and gives me some of the "good
stuff" V-8 has in it. Along with some of the bad stuff like the
Sodium, but I am not too worried about that. I did notice thugh that
everytime I have drank the next few weeks I do not lose too much weight,
and in one case where I drank quite a bit in one night I gained about 5
pounds. they left almost as quickly as the came, but still it is scary that
it is such a tight balancing act. Do be careful what, and how much you
drink. Red Wine I have heard is the best for you if you indeed want to
imbibe on a special ocasion. good luck!

I swear, I think I could seriously become an alcoholic. I really love
blush wine too. I haven't indulged too much - maybe a shot glass or
two..okay, I'm lying...once, I had a full wine glass. Did it make me url?
Nope - I was BUZ-ZIN !! :) Hell, I was buzzin when I only had the one or
two shot glasses full. I was a lightweight (with alcohol) before and even
more of a lightweight after.....don't drink & drive though -
seriously...even after one or two shot glasses. I heard of a woman on here
who had very little to drink but because of the size of our stomachs, it
emptied into the blood system really fast and she almost or did receive a
DUI after that small of an amount. Wild, huh? We're all such cheap dates
now !! Cheap meals. Cheap drinks. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP
