Question:
Can anyone tell me about Dr. William Marcus in Silver Spring, MD?

I had my surgery done by Dr. Marcus on Jan 8, 2002. I had no complications
and the weight loss is going great. He has a great bedside manner and will
answer any question you have. He also conducts support group meetings
twice a month at Holy Cross Hosp where you can interact with pre and post
op patients. I think he's great!!!!!!!!!

In all honesty, I went to his support group and was not impressed with
him...I asked a question about fiber and was quite put off by his
condescending attitude. Plus I think he only does the DS/BPB, which are
the most radical (IMHO) of the WLS, and I was not interested in that. Most
people seem to love him, so mind you, this was just my impression, but I do
think we have a tendency to sanctify the WLS docs. Good luck!

Dr. Marcus is the best..
He was not my doctor, but he shares a support group with Dr. Greene. Every
time I have seen him or spoken with him he has always taken the time to
listen and answer any question I may have. Very supportive of pre-care and
aftercare.. He attends support group meetings 2x a month and even goes out
to dinner with us all after! If you have a particular question.. E-mail
me.. Maybe I can help.

Dr. Marcus is a wonderful man. I actually would have chosen him as my
doctor based on his credentials and his winning personality and charm, but
I didn't want to be off of work for a month or longer so I went with Dr.
Barry Greene of Silver Spring. Dr. Greene works very closely with Dr.
Marcus but he does roux-en Y gastric bypass laparascopically vs. Dr.
Marcus' open Biliopancreatic Diversion. I would recommend Dr. Greene to
anyone, he's also a wonderful caring man!
