Question:
8 months post op -- mild flu-like symptoms, probably not wls related BUT
is this ringing a bell with anyone else? This feeling comes and goes periodically and I know it's probably not wls related, but just taking a chance that someone else may know what this is.........the flu? I had a shot last Oct. — Annie H. (posted on July 12, 2002)

Mild flu like symptoms that come and go should be checked out. It could or
couldn't be wls related, but getting checked by a doctor is a good idea,
because it's not normal to feel like that frequently. Good Luck!

I agree with the previous poster about getting this checked out, BUT, there
are a few things to look at first. 1. did you get in all of your fluids on
those days? 2. Did you get in all of your vitamins and calcium on those
days?? 3. Did you eat properly on those days?? No sugar and not a high
carbohydrate diet?? IF you can say yes to all of those things, then you
should contact your doc for further testing and blood work. It could be as
minor as being a little extra iron cause you are anemic.

I found around 6-7 months out I was getting a little lax with my diet. I
wasn't putting pro first, reaching for crackers instead of a salad etc.
Sugars were creeping back in too. I wasn't feeling as peppy, I felt sort of
lethargic and vaguely achey. When I cleaned my diet back up, went back to
pro vegies and fruits and cut out the sweets (even the sf kind) I really
started feeling much better again. Perhaps a journal or good long look at
what you're eating, or fitday.com might help. good luck

Go into your primary and explain to them what's going on. Document your
symptoms, when you eat and how long after you eat do they appear or when
you start noticing the symptoms. IF you haven't haven't had it out, my
suggestion is, you may be experiencing Gall Bladder symptoms. Don't wait
too long, get it checked out and be firm with the doctor that you want your
Gall Bladder checked out.
Take Care, and limit your heavy/fatty foods until you can get it taken
care of.
