I just received my medicalert braclet in the mail last week. I put the
following on my braclet and also in the instructions to Medicalert:
"Roux-en-y gastric bypass. do not blindly insert ng tube. Use
endoscopy."
Hope this information helps

The previous poster's seemed good. I asked my surgeon if I should get a
medicalert bracelet, and he said no. :( I am concerned, should I get one?
I know people have them! Some advise from others?

I think it's worth the $40 for peace of mind. Mine says "gastric
bypass do not blindly place n/g tube, use endoscopy" then there is my
id number under it so if there's any problems they can call the number for
more information.

Hi I just wanted to say that I agree with the previous posters. State your
surgery type, and No Ng Tube use edoscopy! I found some beautiful
bracelets at http://www.laurenshope.com/ my favorite is Tanzanite and
Periwinkle Crystals with name - $79.95. I know it is expensive, but I want
it to look pretty on my new body. Huggers, and Have a blessed day! ~Ang~

in addition to no blind NG tubes, my surgeon also gave me a card that says
"NO NSAIDS" (anti-inflammatory, "NO ASPRIN", NO
PREDNISONE" also if you are considering this bracelet you should also
list your medication allergies also.
