Question:
This question is for the long-term post ops.....it's about drinking water

I have a 30-40 minute ride to work in the morning. I take a 20 oz. bottle of water with me but don't start drinking it until I get about 15 minutes into my ride, just in case traffic gets bad -- then I'll have to pee really bad. So about 15 minutes from the office I start chugging that bottle of water and have 20 oz. out of the way for the day. My question: Am I stretching my pouch drinking this much water at once? Just wondering. It doesn't seem like I am. Does the pouch get stretched out gradually? Kind of like a balloon that gets weak spot in it? Also, often times I do the same thing on the way home; 15 minutes from home and I drink it down.    — Annie H. (posted on July 5, 2002)

I wondered the same thing early on & my doc told me your pouch really isn't "like" a balloon so water doesn't stay...it flows right through (try putting a hole in that balloon). I do the same thing. Any time I'm in the car I'm drinkin' my water!!

Do you eat before you leave for work? Are you waiting the required time before you drink the water? Thats my only question. Other than that, water just flows on through. Shouldnt be stretching anything out. Path of least resistance.....
