Question:
Can't you find a protein in a pill form?
I'm wondering with all the likes and/or dislikes of these protein drinks isn't there a protein pill you can take if you can't stand the drinks or mixes? I've seen many posts of patients who can't tolerate the taste. Why can't we get a pill form? — Diane C. (posted on June 23, 2002)

maybe because the pill would pass thru your system too quickly to be
absorbed? Gee wish I had a good answer for you. Have you considered
proteinex? I haven't personally tried it - hear its mildly nasty tasting
but you only have to down a tablespoon of it twice a day to get your full
day's protein requirements. Just a thought.

Put in "Protivity" in the topic search and you will find a lot of
info on the protein pill. I beleive you can get 140 pills for $59.99 on one
website that sells it. Each pill is one gram of pure protein that is
supposedly absorbed like 35 grams of regular protein. so if you took 2
pills a day then that would give you 70 grams of protein. I do not use
these, this is just what I have read on the subject. I may try them down
the road but for now I am just using shakes.

hi. I just bought the protein pills that many people use called MAP,
PROTIVITY or BIOSHAPE. they actually aren't 35 grams of protein each,
unfortunately (I WISH THEY WERE, how much easier would that be!?!)IT is 1
gram of protein per pill and you are supposed to take 10 pills a day. There
is confusion i think with the 35 grams b/c each pill is 1 gram of protein
but it's all absorbable therefore your body utilizes it to 35 grams of
protein. but they are not worth that much protein. I got this information
from Kristin Ritter. thanks :)

IGNORE my previous post. The bottle says take 10 a day, but I just realized
there are different instructions from people who take it, so i don't want
to give inaccurate information. I haven't started taking it yet :) thanks

try spirolina. It's an herbal way to get protein and comes in different
forms. I personally use the capsule because I can't take pills but I can
open the capsule and sprinkle it on applesauce or something to take it.

Hi, I don't know how long ago you posted this question and if you are still
looking for an answer, but my doctor and his assistant told me for a good
protein supplement is something called AG-Pro, it is not on the shelf at
the store but its not prescription either, you just have to ask the
pharmacist to hand it to you! The reason is because it is very strong it is
what they give cancer patients after chemotherapy in order to get their red
blood cells back up. Also its great for your hair with all the protein,
you won't have any hair loss. You take 6 pills a day, 2 at each meal and
that is 3,250 grams of protein and amino acids! I hope I helped you out
because it has worked for me! Also the place I got my AG-Pro was Wal-Mart
and it is $15.99 a bottle! Heather J
