Question:
At four months post-op, what could be causing me to now see blood in my stools?
I only have bowel movement every 2-3 days, in the last week everytime I've had a bowel movement I have seen bright red blood in my stool. — LaVonda H. (posted on May 22, 2002)

Please go see your Dr. I'm sure its nothing, but as you just had surgery on
your intestines and seeing blood is NOT normal I'd go see the DR. Good Luck

I had similar problems when I was 2 months out. Mine was caused by eating
beef jerky and not chewing it thoroughly. The sharp little edges abraided
my tender new tummy and intestines. I went to the doc and has a
colonoscopy to make sure all was fine. It was and the problem passed
(pardon!) - LOL. Good Luck.

You should see your doctor, of course. I had the same problem at 5 months
but I knew it was my hemorrhoids. I had a colonoscopy and the solution was
I needed more fiber. So I do Citrucel fiber everyday and feel great. It
tastes like Tang to me and no more problems. Good luck!!
