Question:
Anyone taking Celexa - what time of day do you take it?
Hi! I've recently switched from Serzone to Celexa for depression. (Serzone was making me nauseous when I took it - all at night - didn't do that before WLS.) I'm nervous to try the Celexa simply due to nausea. Anyone taking Celexa? How well does it go down? When do you take it? Does it keep you awake or make you sleepy? I've read the liner notes which contridict whatthey say, and my therapist just kind of said "see how it works for you." I didn't think I'd be so nervous about switching to it! Thanks for any advice/help. — Sarah C. (posted on May 20, 2002)

Hi,
I have been takomg Celexa for about 6 weeks now, after taking Paxil for 18
months. I take mine in the morning and really don't have any effects from
it except dry mouth at night, which to me is a good way to drink water. :)
Compared to the paxil, I love the celexa! I feel like it is working much
better for me and I have a lot more energy. Paxil used to keep me up until
1-2 in the morning and then I would sleep in the afternoons. Celexa has
made me feel more normal and I'm getting to sleep much earlier and getting
up easier. I have had no nausea from the celexa, but at the begining, I had
a few headaches, which have since gone away. That could have also been
related to going off the paxil. Good Luck! :)

I have been taking celexa for approx. 8 months, it's a wonderful tool. I
found that taking it in the morning made me feel tired, so I take my dose
at bedtime. It's really different for everybody, you'll just have to take
it and then decide for yourself if you should take it in the am or pm.
good luck

I have been taking Celexa since 11/00. Open RNY 3/15/01. I take mine around
3 in the afternoon without any problems( I do work nights though). I have
had no issues from taking it other than to feel normal.
