Question:
Has anyone tried GNC Chewable Calcium 600?
It's a cherry chewable & it states "Each serving contains 600 mg of Calcium as Calcium Carbonate, Tricalcium Phosphate and Calcium Citrate and 200 IU of Vitamin D along with Boron as Boron Gluconate". Would this be a good enough source of Calcium Citrate? — Jacqueline H. (posted on May 14, 2002)

Here is the nutrition forum product review page: http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/list-products.phtml.
I see a few things there at the bottom of the page under calcium
supplements. Be sure to post your own review there if you have any
experience with any particular products. Also, here is a nutrition page
from our Q&A library : <a

I havent tried that one, but my dietician recommends viactiv. They are
caramel flavored, or chocolate. Have a small amount of sugar but not
enough to make most people dump. They are really good. Makes me feel like
I am getting a treat, and getting my vitamins in at the same time.

I can't answer your question. I don't know if it is enough Citrate or not.
I personally wouldn't gamble with it though. I would find something that
is just Citrate, not combined with the carbonate. And to the poster below,
Viactiv is carbonate. The only thing that will do for you is give you
osteoporosis and kidney stones. I'm surprised it was recommended to you.

I found the most delicious calcium chews in CVS Pharmacy that are 500 mg of
calcium each. I have 2 each day, 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.
Each one has 20 cals, 3 gr carb. 2 gr sugar and 50% Vitamin D (200 I.U.)
and 50% Caldium (500 mg). this is why I take 2 a day. They are chocolate
soft chews and taste just like a chocolate caramel square. I love em and
they satisfy my chocolate "fix". Also, There's another brand
that is good too. It's call Viactive. It's the same chocolate soft chews
but don't have as much Vitiman D. Hope this info helps. Good luck!
