Question:
For those of you that have plateaued and got through it, how much did you restrict?
How much did you restrict your carbs? And how much did you increase your protein? I kinda thought that with this surgery I would be done with dieting but it seems like I am going to have to go on one of some sorts to start my weight loss again. Any suggestions? — Cory F. (posted on April 19, 2002)

When I hit a plateau this is what I follow and it seems to work. 70%
protein at least 80gms---20% carbs---10% fat at least1 hr excersize 3times
a week. 64oz water. I always track my food on

I normally limit myself to 20grams of carbs a day. Most days I have less
than that. If I am on a plateau, I cut them out entirely and try to get in
more water. It has worked for me.

Cory, plateaus are a way of life when you lose weight, just face it. I hit
my first one at 3 weeks post-op and that one lasted 10 days. Since then I
have had a few minor ones, lasting about a week to 9 days. To shake it up,
I increase the protein (about 80 grams a day), try to increase the water,
cut down a little on carbs, and work a little harder on exercise. It
works, but at 10 weeks post-op I was hoping to get away with no plateaus
for the first few months. No such luck!
