Question:
I know a lot of people vomit, but do you have nausea also?
I've read a lot of questions about the vomiting, but I'd like to know if there is nausea associated with it. I can handle pain better than I can stand to feel nauseated. UUUGGGHHH!! — Belinda W. (posted on April 12, 2002)

I am only 6 weeks out. Other than the morning following surgery I have had
no nausea. I have vomited a couple of times when food feels stuck but it
was relatively uneventful and not like whay throwing up used to be!

I didn't vomit, but I did have horrible nausea after surgery. They gave me
drugs for it in the hospital, they do everyone. I got home and without the
drugs I got soooooo sick feeling. I called my Dr, he called in a
prescription to my pharmacy, my hubby got the pills, problem solved. I
stayed on the pills 4 weeks, when I got off the nausea was gone. There is
no reason to feel nauseated, your Dr can prescribe meds. Take care

I had extreme nauseau for the first few weeks, especially in the morning,
but no vomiting. Since then, I have 3 episodes of horrible pouch pain,
from eating too fast, where I wish I could vomit, but for some reason, I
just can't. Think everyone is different, but from what I hear, those that
do vomit, its very quick and you feel better right away.

Hi, the only time I vomit is if I eat too much, too fast or eat bread. I
never feel any nausea with it, just pain in the pouch and over-active
saliva glands. The only time I have nausea is if I get too much dairy
(lactose intolerance) or sometimes sugar alcohols.

I'm 2 months post-op. I've vomited once with no nausea. I've dumped twice
and found out I can't tolerate white flour products. When I dumped, I had
nausea. The only other nausea I've had was my first few days post-op when
I was on full liquids in the hospital. They had absolutely the worst broth
I've ever eaten and everything else was sugar laden! BTW, the
anaesthesiologist put something in my IV for nausea so when I woke after
surgery, no nausea!! Ask for it!
